![]() Zolomon, not caring about time, gets on the treadmill himself. He asked Wally to use the cosmic treadmill to go back in time, but Wally refused on the grounds that time could be horribly damaged if he did that. Formerly a cop named Hunter Zolomon, he was paralyzed in a supervillain attack. Kreisberg compared it to a horror movie.įor those who don’t know, in the comics Zoom was a villain of the third Flash, Wally West. His will be organic in design, and it will be “hard to tell if it is a suit or alive.” He also said that, unlike Reverse-Flash whose identity was revealed fairly early in Season 1, Zoom’s identity will be the mystery of the season as the team tries to figure out who this new speedster is. ![]() Kreisberg elaborated a bit more on the character, comparing him to Venom in regards to his appearance. Last year, we thought of the Reverse-Flash as a speed warrior this year, Zoom is like a speed demon, and no one does demon-voice better than Tony Todd. Last year, with the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different. Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader - this iconic voice coming out of this mask. The Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said of the new villain and casting choice… Zoom will be making his debut in the second episode of the season, Flash of Two Worlds, which will presumably be premiering on October 13th, one week after the season premiere of October 6th. Variety is reporting that Tony Todd, of Candyman and Final Destination fame, will be voicing Zoom, the new villain for Season 2 of the CW series. It’s the Candyman is what I was going for. Anyway, the point is that we’re gonna need a new villain for Season 2, and it looks like the creators are going for something a bit sweeter… Sorry, that sounded weird. He was such a great character and it was a shame to watch him kind of die maybe (He’s coming back for season 2 so that shit’s all kinds of fucked right now). One of the high points, at least for me, of The Flash was Tom Cavanagh as the Reverse-Flash.
